The Method

Prioritise

Step 1 is to get rid of anything that isn't essential, and focus on learning the grammar and vocab that will make the biggest difference to your level.

Organise

Once we have chosen what to learn, we now need to know which order to learn it in to learn the most effectively and to make it all make sense.

Summarise

The last step is to take away the need to memorise anything, by provided a quick summary of everything in our beautiful summary leaflets!

How Our Method Works

1

Focus On What Matters

The first thing you need to do when learning a language is to decide what to learn. What are all the words you actually need to be conversational? What grammar do you actually need to use every day, and what is just useless fluff? These are the questions we've spent a decade answering, so that you can focus on just learning the things you're actually going to need every day in normal conversation.

2

Obsessively Organise

Now that you know what you're going to learn, you now need to know what order you're going to learn it in. This makes a huge difference in how fast you can learn a language and how much sense it makes. We have obsessed in extreme detail over what order you should learn things in so that they build logically on from one another, so that you can get to a conversational level as fast as humanly possible.

3

Keep It Simple

We don't believe in using complicated grammar terms that don't help anyone. We are making language courses for normal people who probably know what verbs and nouns are, but have no idea what relative pronouns or the imperfect subjunctive are - and that's okay! We explain everything in simple terms, always explained in context of how it works in your native language in comparison to the language you're learning.

4

Eliminate The Need To Memorise

One of the hardest things when learning a language is remembering everything! We feel your pain, which is why we made our beautiful summary leaflets for each level of every course, with all topics summarised into cute little boxes, so you can quickly remind yourself of the rules of how things work when trying to speak. This takes away the stress of memorising and allows you to focus on using the language!

Three Levels To Fluency

Our three-level system will take you from your current level to a practically fluent level as efficiently as possible

Level 1: Bad -> Good

In Level 1, you will learn all the essential grammar to speak English to a basic conversational level, and learn the 1000 most used words in real life.

Level 2: Good -> Great

In Level 2 (which is where most students start), you will do a deep dive into the more difficult grammar you will need on a daily basis and learn the second most frequently used 1000 words.

Level 3: Great -> Practically Fluent

In Level 3 you start with a great technical understanding of English, and learn all the little things you need to express yourself like a native and learn the third most used 1000 words.

What Our Courses Look Like

Our system distills languages to the essential components you need to be conversationally fluent, and then organises them so you learn as efficiently as possible.

Clear Path To Practical Fluency

You can't cheat at learning a language, but you can optimise. We've spent twelve years obsessively refining our system to ensure it covers everything you need for real life, ordered according to priority, so that as long as you follow the system step by step you're guaranteed to speak conversationally.

Three-Level System

We obsessed over the order that you learn things in our course so that every topic builds logically from the last, right up until you're conversationally fluent. Join the course at your current level and we'll take you the rest of the way, in our simple three-level system.

Waste No Brain Space

Everything in all our courses is organised according to frequency of use, meaning if a topic or word is used all the time, we're going to learn it early on in the course. Languages are just a certain number of vocab and topics used over and over again - and that is the stuff we focus on learning!

Made By Humans

We think learning a language is one of the most awesome human things you can do, so all our explanations, examples and tips are made by expert humans who know what they're talking about and how to explain things in simple terms that make sense.

Made For Adults

We believe learning a language should be fun and include everything you will need as an adult. We teach you real things you're going to need, such as how to swear like a native, how to talk about wine, and how to joke around with your new friends you'll be making thanks to your new language skills!

Top-Notch Quality

Our obsession to quality extends beyond the courses themselves; from our top-of-the-line video and audio gear to make our podcasts and our upcoming video courses look and sound awesome, to the time we put into designing our summary leaflets, and to the care we put into choosing the perfect example sentences.
